Serves as the point person for the daily oversight of department operations. Responsibilities include monitoring the work of contracted providers; and continuous action to improving quality, responsiveness, and cost-effectiveness of the interpreter deployment system. This person also ensures adequate staffing of interpreters to provide interpretation services for LEP (Limited English Proficient) patients and their families to facilitate commmunication between them and their health care providers. This position works closely with the Interpretation Services Manager and requires an organized, self-starting individual who has excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to problem-solve, and manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast pace setting. The individual must be able to tactfully and effectively communicate operational information with physicians, coworkers, patients, families, and other individuals both within and outside the hospital.
