Coordinates purchase of equipment, supplies, and other materials for assigned departments. Responsibilities involving conducting price reviews, placing orders, and maintaining inventories and associated records.
REQUIRED:
1. Associate's degree in Business Administration and/or 3 years hospital purchasing experience. 2. Demonstrated knowledge of supply chain and accounting principles. 3. Knowledge and experience in the use of MS Office and purchasing applications 4. Communicates effectively verbally and in writing. 5. Ability to plan and prioritize a wide variety of activities in a high- volume, fast-paced environment As of February 15, 2016, employees currently in the Buyer role is considered grandfathered and are therefore not required to meet the new educational and experience requirements of this job. Anyone applying for the Buyer role as of 2/15/2016 must meet the new requirements. Pharmacy: 1. Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of Georgia and three (3) years Pharmacy Technician experience. 2. Successful completion of a Pharmacy Technician Certification Board Exam recognized by the Georgia State Board of Pharmacy. 3. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, coworkers, and others as necessary. 4. Knowledge and skill in the operation of personal computers and office equipment.
PREFERRED:
1. Five (5) years' experience in hospital purchasing. 2. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Healthcare related field. Project Management; ability to work collaboratively with others and build positive business relationships
