Responsibilities

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

1.     Responsible for the coordination of design, build testing, implementation, training, upgrades, support and overall system management of all surgery applications

 

2.     Acts as Project Manager for upgrades and new system implementations.

 

3.     Works with Information Systems and other staff as necessary to assure development and implementation of procedures for managing surgery systems and other related system implementations.

 

4.     Assists with coordination of scheduling and implementing all upgrades to all surgery clinical documentation systems.

 

5.     Provides second level technical support for all surgical services systems. Maintains a thorough working knowledge of all surgical services systems application.

 

6.     Maintains a thorough working knowledge of the file maintenance of surgery patient tracking and clinical documentation computer system. 

 

7.     Works closely with Surgery Education and Quality staff to ensure documentation complies with standards. 

 

8.     Works closely with Information Systems to ensure documentation complies with standard hospital documentation policies.  Works closely with clinical informatics to ensure appropriate staff training/systems education.

 

9.     Assists staff with problem resolution, and coordinates interdepartmental issues relating to technical issues relating to clinical documentation and patient tracking systems and their use. 

 

10.  Regularly communicates with system users to determine needs and potential enhancements.

 

 

11.  Works with Surgical Services Systems Analyst in providing/creating specifications for routine and custom departmental reports using Crystal Report Writer and other database analysis and reporting tools as necessary.

 

12.  Performs other duties as assigned.

 

13.  Demonstrates service excellence behaviors routinely in encounters with all customers, i.e., coworkers, patients, visitors, physicians, auxilians, etc.

 

 

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND LEADERSHIP

1.         Other duties as assigned by supervision.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

  •  B.S. Degree in Nursing, Business, Systems, or related field or Five (5) years healthcare financial or clinical experience
  • Two (2) years healthcare financial or clinical systems experience (with B.S. Degree)
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.

PREFERRED

  •  Five (5) plus years healthcare financial or clinical systems experience (with B.S. Degree)
  • Experience in Project Management
