The IS Trainer is responsible for developing and delivering training that ensures physicians, nurses, and other clinical and non-clinical staff are proficient in the use of hospital information systems. This position emphasizes instructional design, content development, and delivery of classroom and eLearning courses to support system implementation, optimization, and ongoing education. The IS Trainer collaborates with IS, Informatics, and operational leadership to align training with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.

In addition to training responsibilities, the IS Trainer may provide limited support in informatics activities, including workflow feedback, documentation review, testing and optimization tasks, as needed during periods of lower training demand.

1. Bachelor’s degree in Education, Nursing, Informatics, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
2. Two (2) to three (3) years of experience in healthcare information systems, education, or informatics.
3. Demonstrated experience in instructional design and training delivery.
4. Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.

PREFERRED

1. Clinical degree/license (RN, Allied Health, etc.).
2. Cerner training credential or equivalent EMR training experience.
3. Certification in instructional design, adult learning, or healthcare IT (e.g., CHTS-TR, CPHIMS).
4. Experience in workflow analysis or informatics.
