Responsible for overseeing hospital policies and procedures, as well as the guideline/standards of applicable professional organizations, requirements of CMS, TJC and other applicable federal, state and local regulatory and/or accrediting agencies as they relate to high level disinfection processes. Responsibilities include collaboration with departments performing HLD in the development and implementation of best practice based on research and recognized practice standards and recommendations. Responsible for ensuring all areas of HLD are performing best practices and are compliant with all standards and regulatory requirements across the NSH system. The HLD Coordinator will work in conjunction with other departmental leadership to evaluate practice and staff competency. Based on assessment and evaluation, the Coordinator will determine training needs, quality assurance requirements and/or education programs required for staff. The Coordinator will also assess the physical environment where the process is occurring to ensure compliance and safety.
