OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY
As part of the health care team provides pharmaceutical care with an emphasis in the designated specialty care area. Assumes administrative role and responsibility for all systems and procedures in a specific pharmacy satellite and designated
practice area. Coordinates work flow and supervises satellite activities and personnel. Serves all patients including, but not limited to, neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinates activities and develops systems for administering satellite pharmacy programs and services.
- Promotes and facilitates interdepartmental cooperation and consensus building.
- Serves as a resource to assist staff in accomplishing departmental missions and goals.
- Participates in interviewing candidates for pharmacy personnel positions and makes recommendations.
- Provides and monitors orientation and hiring of pharmacy personnel.
- Assigns and monitors work of technicians and pharmacists.
- Participates as a team member in the personnel evaluation process.
- Performs duties and responsibilities of a staff pharmacist in the specialty care area.
- Develops policies and procedures and administers Quality Improvement programs for specialty area(s) in conjunction with the Staff Development and Quality Improvement Coordinator.
- Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital anddepartmental policies and procedures. Immediately reports any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or employee/patient/visitor injury-accident to Manager.
