Responsibilities

Initiates and manages routine financial operational or program-specific projects with a particular focus on physician compensation and related financial metrics. Projects include preparing and analyzing reports that detail physician compensation structures, payment methodologies, and practice profitability. Develops pro forma financial statements and handles ad-hoc financial requests with a problem-solving approach. Assists with maintaining financial systems and undertakes projects related to budgets, cost accounting, revenue management, profitability analysis, productivity metrics, and service line reviews. 

  1. Conducts basic to moderate financial analysis focused on physician and practice-related metrics. This includes monthly statistical reporting, budget variance analysis, clinical and volume reporting, and other financial operational analyses.
  2. Prepares and analyzes detailed physician compensation reports, ensuring accurate and timely payment of physician compensation and maintaining up-to-date records.
  3. Develops and maintains physician practice profit and loss statements, providing insights into practice profitability and identifying areas for financial improvement.
  4. Constructs pro forma financial statements to support new initiatives, expansions, or financial forecasting for physician practices and other healthcare services.
  5. Handles ad-hoc financial analysis requests with a proactive and solution-oriented approach, ensuring timely and accurate responses to complex financial queries.
  6. Utilizes various financial and analytical tools to complete projects, ensuring data accuracy and consistency before presenting findings to management.
  7. Supports the finance division's core functions, including cost accounting processes, operating and capital budgeting, month-end flexible budget processes, and physician profitability or productivity projects.
  8. Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with organizational and departmental policies and procedures. Reports any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or injuries immediately to the Manager.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED 

  1. Bachelor’s Degree
  2. Demonstrated knowledge of computers and micro computer applications.
  3. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite. Experience using Excel.
  4. Good analytical and communication skills.
  5. Self-starter who has the ability to manage multiple priorities and to work with only general supervision on assigned projects and activities.
  6. The individual must demonstrate tact and diplomacy in situations of conflict and controversy and must have excellent communication and presentation skills.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED 

  1. Decision support or financial analysis experience.
  2. Experience with decision support products.
  3. Knowledge of writing queries in Access application and SQL or other advanced system languages.
