Leads the daily activities of assigned Modality (MRI)
Acts as a resource concerning specialty area for the radiologists, radiology staff and other departments.
Acts as a liaison between their department and referring physician’s offices.
Works with pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
Regularly performs the duties and responsibilities of a technologist for patients of all ages.
Prioritizes and sequences imaging examinations and procedures as required.
Reviews schedule with radiologist and staff as needed.
Coordinates pre-procedure activities to include obtaining pertinent imaging studies prior to procedure; ensure correct procedure is planned; obtaining pertinent history and physical exam notes from referring physician.
May assist physician with biopsy and aspiration procedures, practicing sterile technique as required.
Sets up sterile trays with all supplies and instruments required for procedures.
Responds to patient/family and referring physician calls.
Leads assigned staff by assigning and evaluating work and contributing to employee’s performance evaluations.
Orients and trains new personnel.
Resolves routine problems and complaints.
Refers other matters to Supervisor or Manager.
Maintains inventory for assigned area.
Ensures supplies are ordered and rooms are stocked.
Responsible for leading operations of a major revenue/cost center.
Assists Manager with operations budget.
Gives input/expertise in interviewing, hiring, and disciplinary actions.
Performs minor equipment maintenance and repair.
Calls Bio Med when problems are beyond abilities.
As applicable, must be available for call.
Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
Immediately reports any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or employee/patient/visitor injury-accident to supervisor.
Demonstrates service excellence behaviors routinely in encounters with all customers, coworkers, patients, visitors, physicians, auxiliary staff, etc.
Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED
Registered Radiological Technological (RT or RTT)
Two (2) years of experience working as an an MRI Tech
Must hold Certification in American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
PREFERRED
Two years of supervisory experience.
