Responsibilities

The Exercise Physiologist provides safe and effective Cardio-vascular testing or Pulmonary Rehabilitation sessions for adult and geriatric patients with chronic respiratory and comorbid conditions. Conducts assessment, reviews medical history and tests, formulates exercise prescription, guides and motivates patients through rehabilitation sessions, and observes and documents response to therapy while adhering to scope and standards of practice according to American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR) guidelines.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:
1. Graduation from an accredited exercise physiology program with a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology or equivalent.

2. Certified in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
PREFERRED:
1. Master's Degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, or equivalent.

2. Six (6) months experience in Cardiac/Pulmonary rehab involving the exercise treatment of patients.

3. Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (ACLS).

4. Certified by the American College of Sports Medicine as a Certified Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-EP) or Clinical Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-CEP).

5. Certificate in Pulmonary Rehabilitation AACVPR/AARC preferred.
