Responsibilities

Organizes, and staffs the work activities of the laboratory during each shift to provide laboratory services to neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

 

  1. Four (4) years' experience as a histolgoy technician and have ASCP certification as a histology technician.
  2. Must submit to color vision acuity test. Color vision acuity is required to safely perform the duties of this position.

 

 

PREFERRED

 

  1. Computer skills: knowledge of MS Office (MS Word, Excel); basic statistics skills. 
  2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  3. BS degree in science
  4. Certified as a HT or HTL (ASCP).
  5. Two years of Supervisory and/or management experience in a histology laboratory.
  6. Expertise in assay development.
  7. Experience in various methods of nucleic acids purification (DNA, RNA)
  8. Knowledge of various platforms for real-time PCR(TAQMAN, FRET, etc.
  9. Knowledge of workflow for sequence analysis and/or DNA-fragment analysis.
  10. Ability to prioritize required duties and responsibilities, to define problems, to collect data, to establish facts and to draw valid conclusions.
  11. Ability to adjust to flexible schedule, varied hours, or work on-call
