Responsible for supervising insurance verification team in workflow to verify insurance and initiate the pre‑certification process of patient visits. Responsible for being a liaison between clinical staff, physicians, ancillary departments, and the insurance verification staff. Responsible for providing oversight of day-to-day operation of the prior authorization department. Works as a part of the department leadership team to ensure quality service is provided. Oversee the processing of medication prior authorizations for patients in the medical office received by patient’s insurance or pharmacy and per established protocols. Responsible for utilizing clinical protocols to ensure that quality care is provided to all patients.

REQUIRED

1. High school diploma, equivalent education (GED) or post-secondary education 
2. Three (3) years of experience in a healthcare insurance and/or medication prior authorization environment.
3. One (1) year of supervisory experience.

 PREFERRED

1. Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred
2. Physician Practice Management experience
3. Knowledge of government regulations and insurance provisions
