Responsibilities

1.         Performs myelograms, venograms, arthrograms, and other studies requiring intravenous or subdural injection of contrast medium under the direct supervision of a physician.

2.         Assists physician with arterial and lymphatic studies.  Delivers intravenous contrast under direct supervision of physician.

3.         Regularly performs the duties and responsibilities of the Radiologic Technologists. Performs routine radiographic examinations in accordance with specific operating instructions and safety standards.

4.         Determines proper technical factors and adjusts radiographic equipment accordingly.

5.         Assesses patient condition throughout procedure and observes for adverse reactions. Recognizes and responds to emergency situations according to departmental procedures.

6.         Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures.  Immediately reports any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or employee/patient/visitor injury‑accident to manager.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:

1. Second Year Student at an accredited program in Radiologic Technology.

2. Ability to deal tactfully and pleasantly with various types of patients, visitors, physicians, and other personnel.

3. Certified in cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
