Responsibilities

Manages radiology orders, images and reports related to patient exams.

Fulfills requests from patients, physicians and attorneys for radiology images and reports.

Securely shares patient images with external healthcare institutions.

Prepares studies for Radiologist interpretation and presentation at clinical conferences.

Supports the over-read and discrepancies processes for overnight ED cases.

Gathers and prepares necessary information for PET and IR consults.

Preps patient studies for upcoming OR surgeries.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:
1. High School diploma or equivalent

2. Must be able to type forty (40) words per minute.

3. Demonstrated computer skills

4. Previous experience in a fast paced environment.

5. Must be able to function independently.

6. Demonstrated problem solving skills

7. Demonstrated ability to prioritize in a logical manner.

8. Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in the usage of medical terminology.

9. Excellent customer service skills

10. Demonstrated organizational skills.

11. Must have an understanding of medical terminology.
PREFERRED:
1. Prior clerical experience, preferably in radiology or other hospital/medical office environment.

2. Certificate of completion in a medical terminology course.
