Overview

Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals under the supervision of the authorized user and operates radio isotopic detector equipment to produce photoscans of designated areas of the human body for neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. In Cardiology Services, the Nuclear Medicine Technologist serves adult and geriatric patients.

Responsibilities

Responsible for preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals to patients and operating imaging equipment for diagnostic imaging or therapeutic purposes. Works closely with physicians to ensure the safe and accurate acquisition of images and data needed for diagnosing and treating diseases

Qualifications

REQUIRED

 

  1. Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program
  2. Certified as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist with the ARRT or NMTCB OR meets the eligibility requirements for certification.  Certification must be achieved within 6 months of hire/transfer.
  3. Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life support certification.
