Responsibilities

Provides oversight of the operations of the Central Monitoring Unit to include resolution of concerns related to human resources, telemetry capacity, scheduling issues, and equipment functionality.  Works closely and serves as a communication liaison with all departments that provide telemetry monitoring.  Responsible for the departmental processes that support accurate record keeping, observation of telemetry monitors, and prompt identification and escalation of cardiac rhythm changes to appropriate nursing personnel.  May perform the duties of a Monitor Technician as needed. In the absence of the manager, may assume 24-hour responsibility for the department.

 

Qualifications

REQUIRED

 

LPN/PARAMEDIC/EMT

  1. Completion of LPN, Paramedic or EMT program and appropriate license
  2. Two (2) years of experience
  3. Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification
  4. Demonstrated competency in Medical Terminology
  5. Demonstrated competency in EKG/arrhythmia interpretation
  6. Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) or Certified Cardiac Technician (CCT) or Certified National Telemetry Technician (NTA) within 6 months of employment

 

MONITOR TECHNICIAN

  1. Five (5) years of experience as a monitor technician
  2. Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification Demonstrated competency in Medical Terminology
  3. Demonstrated competency in EKG/arrhythmia interpretation
  4. Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) or Certified Cardiac Technician (CCT)

 

PREFERRED

 

  1. Associates Degree in healthcare related field of study
  2. 1 year supervisory experience
  3. Graduate from an accredited CVT program
  4. National certification in specialty area

 

Work Hours:

7PM - 7AM
