Overview

Seeking an experienced thoracic surgeon with robotic proficiency to join our accomplished team of three surgeons and six advanced practice providers. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care through cutting-edge operative techniques for benign and malignant conditions of the lung, esophagus, mediastinum, and chest wall.

This position offers the opportunity to engage in academic research, lead quality improvement initiatives that drive superior outcomes, and collaborate actively within the Northside Thoracic Oncology Program's multidisciplinary care model. Our established lung cancer screening program provides a robust patient referral base and supports early-stage disease detection.

 

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be an experienced thoracic surgical oncologist proficient in robotic-assisted techniques who will join and enhance our established robotic thoracic surgery team. This individual will leverage advanced technologies and surgical innovations to build upon the Program's commitment to excellent outcomes for patients and their families. The successful candidate will collaborate with our experienced robotic thoracic team, Northside physicians, clinicians, and administrators to maintain a culture of patient centeredness – emphasizing quality, safety, and efficiency while promoting NHCI's multidisciplinary approach to patient care as a local, regional, and national leader in innovation and collaboration. Our team performs the complete range of thoracic oncologic procedures including complex esophageal resections, mediastinal tumor excisions, anatomic lung resections, and chest wall reconstructions utilizing state-of-the-art robotic platforms. Qualifications

  • Fellowship trained, board-certified or ABTS board-eligible thoracic surgeon.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in robotic thoracic surgery required.
  • 3 - 5 years' clinical experience in thoracic surgical oncology preferred.
  • Commitment to team-based multidisciplinary care and collaboration
  • Experience and commitment to cancer research and clinical trials is highly desirable.
