Performs scheduling functions as designated by practice.  Schedules surgeries, procedures and diagnostic testing. Requires general knowledge of specified surgical procedures, exam preparations, exam sequencing and other related functions.

REQUIRED

1. High school diploma, equivalent education (GED) or Six (6) months of clerical, secretarial or customer service experience or completion of post-secondary education.
2. Demonstrated knowledge of Medical terminology

PREFERRED

1. Successful completion of course in Medical Terminology or commensurate experience
2. Proficient in the use and application of MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
3. Previous experience in hospital/medical office scheduling environment.
4. Demonstrated knowledge and skill in the use of a computerized scheduling system
5. Prior experience in insurance precertification
6. One (1) year secretarial experience at a healthcare organization.
