Responsibilities

The Clinical Specialist of Respiratory Care is a member of the department-based leadership team.  The Clinical Specialist serves as a role model of excellence in respiratory knowledge and clinical practice.   Ensures competency and training of staff complies with the American Association of Respiratory Care (AARC) Clinical Practice Guidelines. Works with neonates, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in all patient care departments.

 

Qualifications

REQUIRED

 

  1. Must be a graduate of an accredited respiratory care program
  2. Licensed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from Georgia Composite Medical Board in good standing without limitations.
  3. Three (3) years of experience in Respiratory Therapy with one (1) year of experience in intensive care
  4. Bachelor’s degree in science or health related field
  5. Must hold American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
  6. Must hold American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification.
  7. Must hold American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification.

 

PREFERRED

 

  1. Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy.
  2. Certified in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
