Responsibilities

The Pulmonary Procedure Specialist at Northside Hospital regularly performs the duties of the Respiratory Therapist III and assists physicians in the performance of diagnostic and therapeutic pulmonary procedures, in accordance with the scope of practice as defined by the Georgia Composite Medical Board.  The Pulmonary Procedure Specialist serves as a technical resource for respiratory therapists regarding assistance with such procedures. The Pulmonary Procedure Specialist cares for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations.

 

Qualifications

REQUIRED

 

  1. Must be a graduate of an accredited respiratory care program.
  2. Licensed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from Georgia Composite Medical Board in good standing without limitations.
  3. Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
  4. Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
  5. Must hold American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  6. Must hold American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

PREFERRED

 

  1. Bachelor’s degree in respiratory therapy
  2. Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  3. Experience performing PFT and/or bronchoscopy procedures.
  4. Must hold American Heart Association Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  5. If working in Pulmonary Function Lab, must obtain Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT) credential within 12 months of date in job
