OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY
The Manager, Provider Financial Optimization is a finance leader responsible for supporting the financial and operational performance of Northside’s Physician Enterprise through high-quality financial analysis, reporting, and provider compensation administration. This role serves as a key partner to physician practice leadership and finance stakeholders, translating complex financial and operational data into actionable insights that support sound decision-making.
The Manager focuses on execution, analysis, and team leadership, while progressively developing strategic thinking, cross-functional influence, and enterprise-level financial acumen. The Manager plays a foundational role in advancing financial performance optimization efforts across the Physician Enterprise, and broader health system as needed.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Performance & Analytics
- Prepare, analyze, and communicate accurate and timely financial reporting for physician practices and service lines.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators related to productivity (CPTs, wRVUs), revenue cycle performance, and practice profitability.
- Identify trends, variances, and performance opportunities; clearly articulate drivers and implications to Finance and operational leaders.
- Support development of financial dashboards and standardized reporting tools that inform leadership decision-making.
Provider Compensation Operations
- Oversee day-to-day provider compensation calculation processes in accordance with employment contracts and professional service agreements.
- Ensure accuracy, transparency, and timeliness of compliant compensation payments through coordination with Responsible Managers, Accounting, Payroll, and Accounts Payable.
- Support compensation modeling and analysis to inform leadership discussions and longer-term strategy.
Operational Finance & Business Partnership
- Serve as a finance partner to Practice Administrators and operational leaders by providing financial insight and analytical support.
- Assist with annual operating budgets, forecasts, and resource planning for physician practices.
- Support revenue cycle performance improvement efforts by analyzing charge capture, billing, and collection trends and collaborating with internal teams to resolve issues.
- Help assess practice-level and service-line financial impact on the broader Northside System.
Team Leadership & Development
- Provide day-to-day oversight, coaching, and mentoring to financial analysts and coordinators.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and analytical excellence.
- Develop team members’ capabilities in financial analysis, communication, and problem-solving.
- Support succession planning by building bench strength for future leadership roles.
Professional Development & Organizational Contribution
- Act as a representative of the Finance Division in meetings with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Participate in monthly financial review meetings and contribute to enterprise-wide financial discussions.
- Support special projects and performance improvement initiatives led by the Director or Finance leadership.
- Develop strategic finance competencies in preparation for broader leadership responsibilities.
