Responsibilities

The Program Analyst will play a supporting role in Finance process improvement initiatives by assisting with data analysis, workflow documentation, and project support. This role will involve collaborating with team members to help analyze existing business processes, identify areas for enhancement under guidance, support the implementation of technology-driven solutions, and provide assistance for project completion. The ideal candidate will be eager to develop analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a focus on data-driven learning and understanding process efficiency.  

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process Analysis & Improvement Support:
  1. Assist in analyzing Finance processes to help identify inefficiencies and opportunities for automation under the guidance of senior team members.
  2. Help develop and maintain process documentation, including process maps and flowcharts.
  3. Participate in stakeholder workshops to gather information and document basic requirements.
  4. Support root cause analysis activities and contribute to brainstorming potential solutions for process optimization.
  5. Assist with the implementation of process improvement initiatives and support related change activities.
  • Data Analysis Support:
  1. Assist in collecting, organizing, and performing basic analysis of financial and operational data to identify trends and patterns.
  2. Utilize data analysis tools (primarily Excel; exposure to SQL and Tableau is a plus) under supervision to support the generation of insights.
  3. Help develop and maintain reports and dashboards to track progress and measure the impact of improvements.
  • Project Support:
  1. Support the planning, execution, and monitoring of process improvement projects by assisting with task tracking and documentation.
  2. Assist in developing project documentation, such as meeting minutes and action item lists.
  3. Help identify and escalate potential project risks and issues to senior team members.
  4. Assist in providing project status updates as needed.
  • Technology Enablement & Workfront Workflow Support:
  1. Assist in gathering information for evaluating technology solutions to support process improvements.
  2. Support collaboration with IT for the implementation and integration of new technologies.
  3. Assist in documenting, testing, and maintaining Workfront workflows for Finance processes under supervision.
  4. Help translate basic workflow requirements into Workfront configurations with guidance.
  5. Provide basic user support for Workfront workflows and escalate more complex issues.
  6. Learn how Workfront is utilized effectively for project management within the team.
  • Communication & Collaboration:
  1. Communicate task updates and findings clearly to team members.
  2. Build and maintain good working relationships within the immediate team.
  3. Contribute to a collaborative and supportive work environment by actively participating in team discussions and activities.

 

Qualifications

REQUIRED

  1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
  2. 0-2 years of experience in a business environment, or relevant internships focusing on analysis, process, or project support.

PREFERRED

 

  1. Basic understanding of project management principles and a willingness to learn.
  2. Familiarity with or strong willingness to learn Workfront or similar workflow management tools.
  3. Developing analytical and problem-solving skills, with an eagerness to learn and apply new concepts.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; exposure to or foundational knowledge of SQL and data visualization tools (like Tableau) is a plus.
  5. Familiarity with process mapping concepts and tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart).
  6. Good written and verbal communication skills.
  7. Good organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage assigned tasks.
  8. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow directions.
  9. Interest in process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) preferred.
  10. Interest in finance and accounting processes preferred.
